Michael Krotkiewski born in 1980 in Sweden, is a director, producer and co-owner of Momento Film. Michael has a diploma from Stockholm Academy Of Dramatic Arts, EURODOC and EAVE and has been a boardmember of the Swedish national distributor Filmcentrum Riks. He is currently producing a slate of both fiction and documentary projects.
Michael Krotkiewski is a producer, director, tutor and one of the two company owners of Momento Film. He has a degree from Stockholm Academy of The Arts as well as EAVE producers workshop and Eurordoc.
Krotkiewski’s passion lies in cultivating and challenging the artistic visions and creative processes of other creators as well as himself. He has produced, co-produced and directed 27 feature and short films – both drama and documentary – that has been awarded and screened at festivals such as, Cannes, Venice IFF, Berlinale, Tribeca FF, Chicago FF, Toronto IFF, San Sebastian, IFFR, Vision Du Reel, Hot Docs, IDFA and many more. His latest film, the drama “THE SWEDISH TORPEDEO “by Frida Kempff premiered at Toronto IFF and was nominated for 8 awards and won 4 at the Swedish Guldbaggeawards 2025. And of his previous films can be mentioned the drama AMPARO by Simon Mesa Soto (won Rising Star Award at Semaine de la Critique in Cannes 2021), the documentary ALL OF OUR HEARTBEATS ARE CONNECTED THROUGH EXPLODING STARS by Jennifer Rainsford (won several awards and screened at over 40 festivals 2022), the documentary YUNG LEAN: IN MY HEAD by Henrik Burman (Tribeca FF 2020, theatrical release in over 100 cinemas worldwide, sold to VICE), the documentary TRANSNISTRA by Anna Eborn (won the Big Screen Competition at IFFR, the Dragon Award for best Nordic Documentary at Gothenburg IFF and The Swedish Guldbagge Award for Best Documentary in 2019).
Furthermore Krotkiewski has been a board member of Film Centrum and is regularly invited as an expert and tutor to film related schools, festivals, jurys and workshops.
